Injustice 2 is celebrating the release of Justice League in a special way; in the game’s Multiverse mode, special and limited challenges are being released that will allow players to unlock gear and outfits based on the new movie. The challenges are rolling out one at a time (and on a daily basis) but they will be available during and after the theatrical release of Justice League on Friday, November 17. The modes and gear can be found on both the console and mobile versions of Injustice 2.

This isn’t the first time that Injustice 2 has used the game’s special gear system to promote the DCEU. When Wonder Woman was released in theaters, a similar challenge was made available through the game’s Multiverse that allowed players to customize the game’s version of Wonder Woman to look like Gal Gadot’s iteration.  (That same challenge was later brought back for Wonder Woman’s home release.) For the premiere of Justice League, the Wonder Woman movie gear is back (yet again) but she’s being joined by other members of the League. Interestingly, though, not everyone is getting nearly as faithful a reproduction in Injustice 2.

The Flash and Batman will receive gear sets that make them look like Ezra Miller and Ben Affleck’s characters, respectively, and in the trailer released by Warner Bros. Interactive Batman’s duds resemble his new Justice League look, rather than his costume in Batman v. Superman. However, in the console version at least, Aquaman and Cyborg, will look a bit different than they do in the movie. While the gear that Cyborg and Aquaman will receive is very much inspired by the film, it’s not quite as faithful as the treatment Wonder Woman, Batman and The Flash will be getting, since the characters haven’t been changed to resemble the actors (Aquaman is still blond-haired, for example). However, in the mobile game - which uses skins more than individual customizable gear - the characters do resemble Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher a lot more.

However, the most notable exclusion is that it doesn’t appear that Superman will be getting a Injustice 2 gear set at all. The Man of Steel is not featured at all in the trailer, and won’t show up in either the mobile or console versions of the game. While it’s the worst kept secret in the world that Superman will be returning in Justice League, Warner Bros. is still sticking to their spoiler-free marketing campaign and has not revealed how Superman will appear in the movie, despite a number of rumors and theories.

Perhaps Superman will get a gear set once the movie has released for general audience and spoilers are no longer a serious concern. However, it might be more interesting to just let Superman remain untouched for the moment. After all, it’s not as if the Superman in Injustice 2 (a villainous alternate version of the normally kind-hearted hero) is one that should be associated with Henry Cavill’s portrayal.
