Artist BossLogic reimagines the I Kill Giants movie poster with Avengers: Infinity War characters Thanos (Josh Brolin) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana). The Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon kick off the beginning of the end to their overarching storyline when the third Avengers film debuts next month. Infinity War will unite all the big screen superheroes in a fight against Thanos, who comes to Earth searching for the Infinity Stones. This battle will continue in the still untitled Avengers 4, but Marvel Studios must first release Infinity War and introduce the Mad Titan to the majority of the heroes.
Of course, Thanos has appeared in the MCU before, first in the post-credits scene of The Avengers. He’s also had a major impact on two Guardians of the Galaxy characters, Gamora and Nebula (Karen Gillan), since he’s their father. In the most recent Avengers: Infinity War trailer, we saw a young Gamora holding hands with Thanos. This moment, and the fact that it teases Infinity War will further explore the relationship between father and daughter, has inspired plenty of fan art. Infinity War directors, the Russo Brothers, even shared some Thanos and Gamora art modeled after Logan. Now, a new piece makes its way online.
Artist BossLogic, who previously unveiled the Infinity War art done in the style of the first Logan teaser poster, released a new image that reimagines the poster for I Kill Giants with Gamora and Thanos - and with the movie title “I Kill Titans.” Take a look at BossLogic’s piece below:
Beyond both films being adapted from comics, they also share a cast member in Saldana. The actress has played Gamora in both Guardians of the Galaxy films as well as Infinity War, and recently portrayed Mrs. Mollé in I Kill Giants. For those who don’t know the story of I Kill Giants, the Eisner Award-nominated graphic novel from writer Joe Kelly and artist J.M. Ken Niimura follows a young girl named Barbara Thorsen who is determined to protect her small town from mythical giants. The film adaptation, helmed by Academy Award-winning director Anders Walter with a script by Kelly, was released in theaters and on VOD this weekend.
While it’s unclear how much of the movie will be dedicated to the relationship between the Mad Titan and his heroic daughter, we do know Infinity War is Thanos’ origin story. Plus, we know Thor and Thanos have the most screen time, indicating the Mad Titan will be a major focus of the MCU entry, and it’s likely his relationship with Gamora will be a big part of that. So, although there will be plenty else going on in the upcoming Avengers film, fans can expect to learn more about the relationship between Thanos and Gamora - and whether it will lead to Gamora killing the Titan that is her father.
