A new Avengers: Infinity War deleted scene features Vision and Scarlet Witch fighting for their lives as Black Order’s Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive’s relentlessly attempt to get the Mind Stone from them. Marvel Studios’ biggest undertaking yet, the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed film was an immediate hit all over the globe earning more than $2 billion at the box office. Aside from bringing together all pockets of the MCU, Avengers 3 also saw the official introduction of Thanos, who came with his own minions called the Black Order.
After the Mad Titan successfully retrieved the Tesseract/Space Stone from Loki at the beginning of the film, he sent his Black Order to Earth to get two of the four other magical gems he still needed to restore balance by wiping out half of life in the universe. While Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian went to New York to retrieve the Time Stone from Doctor Strange, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive hunted Vision (and the Mind Stone), who was secretly spending time with Wanda in Edinburgh, Scotland. With the release of Infinity War on digital earlier this week, a brand new deleted scene from the film has emerged online offering fans an extended version of the brawl between the two pairs.
Posted on Twitter by user itsjustanx, the clip features a longer look at Vision and Scarlet Witch’s battle against Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive as the latter two attempt to snatch the Mind Stone from the droid before Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon arrive on the scene to lend a helping hand. The video certainly has a scary feel to it, especially seeing the two Black Order members survey their surroundings to look for the hiding heroes. Check out the full clip below:
Similar to Thanos and Gamora’s deleted scene, this is more of an extended version of what fans saw on the big screen. But while the Russos were able to condense the confrontation between the father and daughter while also maintaining the overall essence of the sequence, they should’ve kept this longer version of Vision and Wanda’s altercation with the Black Order. Not only would it have further built up the tension, making Captain America and his team’s entrance more epic, it would’ve also given Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive their own memorable moment in the movie. Aside from Maw, the evil foursome was mostly a disappointment considering how easily they were taken out by the Avengers, especially the aforementioned two in this particular sequence.
Both pairs, sadly, didn’t survive past Infinity War. Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive died separately in the film’s massive battle in Wakanda. Scarlet Witch, on the other hand, was among the unfortunate half of the universe that were snuffed out of existence after Thanos’ deadly snap. Meanwhile, Vision died at the hands of the Mad Titan as the villain ruthlessly plucked the Mind Stone from his forehead, leaving him lifeless. While it’s more likely the Black Order won’t return in Avengers 4, resurrecting both Wanda and Vision in one way or another is still within the realm of possibility depending on whether or not Marvel Studios still has plans for them in the future.
